The Upper Crust in Middleburg

The baked goods are great!! The owner is very nice as well!! The lady that works there is not friendly at all!! She has no personality and she sucks the life out of a nice treat. I wish she would put a smile on her face and enjoy her job!! If you don't enjoy your job, find a new one!!! I go there regularly but never enjoy dealing with such and unfriendly face!!

Hands down the best pies around!!It's become a family tradition to include a Jingleberry Pie at any family function. We pride ourselves in our home made dishes (including pies/desserts) but The Upper Crust is so remarkable we include their creations right along side our own family recipes. Have yet to be disappointed in 15 years! Everything is scrumptious but those pies are out of this world. Cherry and Jingleberry are our two favourites.

This is the best bakery around.All of their baked items are fresh and delicious, the best sandwiches ever and great service. Sometimes you have to wait in line but well worth the wait. Try the cow puddles and say hello to Scott and the ladies...

Great bakery

My dad was apart of the bakery family until he passed away. They enjoyed seeing him come by everyday and sitting on the porch. They treated me very nice when I went there one day and knew exactly who I am💙

Best food in Middleburg

Not sure why this place is so highly rated. Went in for some of their "delicious treats" and was disappointed. We ordered 4 different cookies (one was the cow puddle) and a raspberry bar. Took a bite out of all and threw them out. Not worth the trip!

Terrible experience. If their goal is to not grow their business, they are on the right track. I will never return. Horrid customer service.

Great little hometown bakery with made from scratch breads, cookies, and pies. BLT is VERY GOOD. Jangleberry pie and p-nut kisses cookies also very good. Great selection of bottled drinks in the cooler in the lobby. Small tables on shaded veranda in back if you elect to eat-in. I have been a customer for over 18 years...

Ok so I really like coming here and have been for many years. The pies are good and the horse cookies and raspberry cookies are amazing!!!! Anyway, I have read through the reviews and some mention the terrible attitude of the staff... AMEN to that!!! Lol I still go because I want my cookies.... but they are mostly rude and seem to be suffering from depression or mean girl syndrome 😂 worthier way I did actually give them some feedback as a COURTESY.. and they seemed interested... lol I’ll have to go back and see if they are still mean:) anyway ...

They have delicious desserts like pies, cookies, and other unique snacks. They also serve food there which I heard is good but I never have tried their bbq sandwich or their BLT. I have tried about most of their cookies and they have all been great. The pies are little expensive, 19 dollars for one, but everything is homemade. The Johnny Appleseed and Jingle Berry pies were very good.

Usually get the ham and swiss croissant bur was sold out. They recommend the rooster. Loved it. Thonk i have a new favorite. Ps. The cow puddle cookies are to die for

The woman behind the counter who I'm assuming was the owner was extremely rude to me. Would not acknowledge when I asked her a question. We spent 50.00 in there and I was extremely disappointed and felt very unwelcome. I will never go back.

If you like sweet treats this is the place to go!!They will ship if you are craving cookies and out of town. Lunch is always yummy!Try eating in the courtyard or in the log cabin behind.

Great baked goods and breakfast. Terrible customer service unless your a local. If you’re not from Middleburg, friendly is not what you’ll find. I go out of my way to drive from The Plains to Purcellville for a way better experience. The Sweet Rose Bakeshop has better pastries, breakfast, customer service and a really cool story on how they came to be. If you’re in Middleburg and don’t want to drive as far as Purcellville, just keep going East into Aldie and stop by the Little Apple Pie Pastry Shop. Run by the sweetest two ladies their pastries are amazing. Good breakfast and great lunch. Get the Thanksgiving Sandwhich!If you’re closer to Marshall, bypass Uppity Crust and stop by Red Truck. Also great pastries, pies, and breakfast. “Vote with your dollars.” Give busines to businesses that actually want it. Uppity Crust might be the only pastry shop in Middleburg, but there’s plenty of other local, family run businesses that you can support.

We stop here every time we are in Middleburg. Amazing fresh baked goods. Last trip we picked up two cakes that were fabulous. This time we went with the Breakfast croissants which were also fabulous. Very friendly.

Got an excellent scone and a great donut for about $2.75. I'll be back!

Horrible service!! We went in at 12:30 to order a cake, the lady in the front didn’t even seem interested in taking our order at all!! She said they need 24 hours notice for them to make a cake, so I asked if we could have a cake made for tomorrow and she said Nope! She didn’t even make an attempt to help or offer other options, just NOPE!! NO courtesy, NO customer service!! Though I must say she was friendly with all the white people that walked in before and after us 😐😐!! Hmm maybe not a place for others to visit. Wouldn’t waste my money here! They don’t deserve it.

Amazing cookies and pies

I was on my way to some apple picking in Delaplane and decided to stop here because of the other reviews. Boy, am I glad we stopped by!No joke, the Cow puddles were great! Butterscotch and pecans, yummy! We also picked up a peach pie for home, and it was still warm. Tons of peaches and all homemade, it was awesome. We also tried their pulled pork sandwich, chicken salad sandwich and a turkey with avocado, all great and good sized for the money. I plan on swinging by again soon! Must go and check out the place. It is a small place and when you walk in, look to your right, the hole leads to the area where you are served. Mind the creaky floorboards! The place sure has character!

I love this place. It's straight-forward. Don't drive up expecting Dupont Circle to greet you with an app and vibrating pagers for your reservation. They keep things simple and do it their way. Respect that. They make a mean pie and killer cookies. I've been going there for over ten years and will continue to do so.
